講　題：Nonlinear stability of the 1D-Boltzmann equation in a periodic box

摘　要：

We study the nonlinear stability of the Boltzmann equation in the 1D periodic box. The convergence rate is algebraic for small time region and exponential for large time region. The algebraic rate is optimal and the exponential rate depends on the size of the domain. This problem is highly nonlinear and hence one can not treat the nonlinear term as a perturbation of the linear problem.
