講 題:Greedy, lazy and intermediate beta-expansions
摘 要:
For a non-integer base beta (larger than 1), almost all (with respect to the Lebesgue measure) real numbers have a continuum of different beta-expansions, which is a new phenomenon comparing with the integer base such as binary and decimal expansions. Among these different representations of a real number, the maximum (in the sense of lexicographical order) is called greedy-expansion and the minimum is the lazy-expansion. We will characterize these expansions and the intermediate beta-expansions as well, and use the method of dynamical systems to study them. This talk includes a joint work with Jung-Chao Ban and Chih-Hung Chang, and that with Tuomas Sahlsten and Tony Samuel.
