An Introduction to Ion Transport Problems | Ion transport problem is a popular issue, because it can be widely utilized on the absorption of drugs, the nerve conduction, and the disease treatment. Today, I will give a simple introduction of ion channels, model of ion transport, numerical scheme, and numerical results. At the end, the future work is to build new models which fit different kind of channel proteins. |

Unraveling the Mystery of Alzheimer’s Disease |
Despite abundant research, the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative Alzheimer’s disease (AD) still eludes our comprehension. This is largely due to complex and dynamic cross-talks that occur among multiple cell types throughout the aging process. Hence, an effective mathematical model can give a useful contribution to the evolution of the disease. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to A.D. and present a mathematical model that helps us define crucial components of the disease.The further research directions and the way we better refine the model will also be mentioned in this talk. |
