The direction of development for the department is focused on the four sub-branches of mathematics: probability and statistics, combinatorics and scientific computing and Data Science. The department places its emphasis equally on theory and application. Students are encouraged to participate in research projects initiated by National Science Council or the industry. The course is designed to encourage students to take up and study modules from other departments such as Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Finances to build up their background knowledge on applied sciences. The credits earned will be counted towards the graduation requirement.
