講 題：Asymptotic problems in the calculus of variation
摘 要：
In this talk, I will introduce some basic ideas in the calculus of variation and the notion of Gamma convergence. In many mathematical models which arise from abstract mathematics, physics or industrial applications may have some small parameters appear. As the parameter vanishing, it is reasonable to guess that the limiting behavior of the model could be revealed by some simpler limiting models. In 1970s, the great mathematician De Gorgi introduce the idea of Gamma convergence in order to study this kind of problems in the variational framework. I will introduce its application to Homogenization problems, dimension reduction problems, phase transition problems and free-discontinuity problems.
